april 8th blog-ness
Another day, another blog.
First on. The weekend just gone…
Friday, had a little ghetto (GTA-esque) adventure, and eventually hung out with some uni peeps, games got played, South Park and LOST got watched, and to hide the truth in a metaphor…we all drifted off the ground. Fun times.
Saturday, I only got up at 3.30pm, had some weak sleeps during the week and managed to used the weekend to catch up somewhat. Sat night I went to Southport to hang at my friend Alex’s, basically we just played video games, he showed me a bunch of stuff (never been to his house before), watched some films, and basically just had a dudes night.
Sunday, got back to Preston about 6.30pm, had a funky bus ride, watched some Samurai Champloo on my laptop, played some Punch Out on an emulator, and watched some WWE, came home, plowed through some eBay work I had to do, and then just spent the night chilling out and watching tv shows.
Monday, got my Subway vouchers I won for work (from a local radio competition), and they took my photo (although I’m yet to see if or where that has ended up on the internet). Work was easy going, Subway lunch owned (as always), came home, got tempted to go out, tried to make it happen, but it didn’t, so…I spent the night watching TV, and watched Wrestlemania 25.
That’s all there is to tell on a summary of recent days really. I’ve also just today been reminded that this Friday is a bank holiday, and so is Monday, thus…4 day weekend. Which is good, because I’m building up a back log of games I haven’t played yet but want to, not to mention the forever growing backlog of games that I mean to complete but haven’t.
Games I have but have never got round to playing:
- Zelda: Majora’s Mask (N64…but on a gamecube bonus disk, didn’t remember I had this until the other day)
- Bioshock (360 – had this nearly a year now, and it’s still in the cellophane wrap :p)
- Stuntman Ignition (same as above)
- Ninja Gaiden II (360 – got this a few weeks ago, not touched yet)
- Kameo (360 – same as above)
- Kung Fu Panda/ Lego Indiana Jones (360 – same as above)
- Skate It (Wii – same as above)
- Madworld (Wii – bought on Friday, I’ve not played it yet)
- Shaun Whites Snowboarding Road Trip (Wii – ordered online yesterday).
I’m probably forgetting at least 1 more game too, and I don’t think I’ll bother starting a list on games I have but haven’t completed yet, as otherwise this blog is going to just depress me with unfinished tasks.
I’ve not been out to a club in a few weeks, so with that has meant I’ve had cash in my pocket/ bank to spend, and I’m such a douche with money, I just have to get rid of it in exchange for stuff. So I just end up buying stuff and making sure I’m broke till the next bit of cash comes in, video games are pretty much the main offenders in my impulse buys, and I really need to stop and put money into other things, whilst simultaneously getting the enjoyment from the back log of games I’ve not played yet/ not finished yet.
I wonder if I’ll ever be able to properly save up money?
Yet at the same time, I don’t want to save for a rainy day, I want to spend and buy stuff whilst I have the money and enjoy it.
Segwaying off the unfinished business sort of mention above, I’ve got a few TV shows I want to catch up on too. Shows I followed for ages then fell behind on.
- Scrubs (seen every ep upto Season 4, and then caught random ones on TV since then).
- LOST (I got to about 85% through Season 3, and want to catch up).
- Everybody Hates Chris (About 80% through Season 2 I think).
- The Office US (I’m about 25 eps behind on this I think)
- Nip tuck (not so bad on this one, probably about 7 eps away from being up to date.
I need to start having some marathon gaming and marathon TV show watching sessions I think, I stay up late all the time, so it makes sense I should use my time to enjoy things I enjoy, instead of losing time to whatever else.
Mmmkay so it’s now Wednesday night as I get to this paragraph, went out last night.
Didn’t plan too, and then didn’t plan to have a heavy one, it started as a few drinks in the Adelphi with my friend Harry, and ended up in PR1 for there Rock Night (Where’s Mavis), I haven’t been in ages, so the potential to eventually end up in PR1 was kind of a selling point in getting me out. All in all, a good night, got majorly drunk, and drank a few beers I didn’t ask for (loud music + misunderstood bar people = random drinks), bumped into my friend Alex whom was out with some of his friends, and the night rolled on till closing time.
Woke up waaaay late today, got a telling off from my Pa over how late I was for work (I expected it though, apologised, and tried to keep my head down), thankfully I didn’t have a hangover today, although I did feel very drained, I had a Subway to try and get some energy up, and had an awesome Pasta at home (made by momma bear) so those 2 meals have helped. Right now I’m gonna hop in the shower, do some pubic removal, and then I’m torn between watching TV or finally playing some of the games I’ve been meaning to play. I think I’ll give “Skate It” a try, as the Wii Balance board owns. I’m currently near 2 weeks into my facial hair growth try out by the way. I’ve never given it a proper shot, I’m not one for growing this kind of thing, and plus, my hair is a light colour so it’s barely noticeable :p, still…if I keep it up, who knows what will come of it (other than potentially putting some girls off me with my hobo-kermit look, heh). I also got a call off my ex today, informing me somehow that some bill had been forwarded onto her that was for me (I presume the new tenants of our old place gave it to the letting peeps, whom then passed it on to my ex), anyway, basically on top of the already mounting debts I’ve picked up from when I lost my job/ moved out, a bunch of stuff I got on finance last year is now being asked for in full. So it’s like +£1100 on top of what I already owed, meaning I now owe somewhere not far from £2000 :S not too mention I’m repaying my mum back for my +£500 laptop.
I may well need to put my social life on hold for a while, and just have quiet nights in at friends or something, I’m hoping that my mum can still hook me up with a personal loan (from her) and I’ll just have to make sure I repay her like £100 a week, and have her paid off a.s.a.p. As I really want to be debt free, and start rebuilding my credit score before I start uni. I’ll have to get one of those visor caps, some 80′s nerd glasses, and one of those typewriter finance things and then go through all my unopened and messed up mail to work out what the total I owe is, and then approach my mum when she’s in a chirpy mood over this Easter weekend with a figure and be like “mum….*then drop the ‘i needs monies’ bomb*”.
So more on that as it progresses…As referenced in my previous blog my lil Bro Jake has been drawing for me since last time (where I mentioned how he often suprises me with little drawings for me).
Randomly this time he’s actually pitched a game idea to me, I told him what I was doing a while ago when I was working on my games design portfolio, and he didnt really say anything other than acknowlidging the fact I was busy with something and wouldn’t be playing video games (which he’d normally sit and watch me do). So for him to randomly come up with a games design when I never asked him too, or remind him about it, it just goes to show he totally respects me and takes inspiration off me. His game idea was called “Snipe him out Dead 2″ (did he make a number 1?). I think I’m the coolest person (in his opinion) that he knows
, and who knows, when my lil bro Max (3) gets older, he may idolise me too
. I love my lil bro’s, it’s going to once again be sad to move out of my parents (whenver that happens) simply because of them. Last time my lil bro Jake was crying over me moving, and that was soo hard for me to take in. Anyway, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
So for now…it’s shower time, and time to end this blog. Expect another one in the next couple of days though, what with Easter weekend etc, maybe I’ll be able to do some mini-reviews on some of the above mentioned games, I’m itching to upload something new to my YouTube too, I love immortalising myself through YouTube, even if I do nothing but make a damn fool of myself and further hurt any credibility I have, lol, and hopefully this weekend I’ll get an Easter egg off someone too (the only person I can think who’d maybe get me one is my mum…so maybe I shouldn’t rush into the money lending fromr her just yet ^_^).
Anyways, thanks as always for nibbling on my text-fests. Till next time….Adios Amigo’s!
