…Video Game Malarky

Browsing Posts in Site News

Just a quick short post to say that some minor updates will be being rolled out on here over the next week.  So please be patient with any downtime, it should be minimal, or hopefully un-noticeable, but it’s just a small tidy up to try and improve some behind the scenes constraints with the article format here.

Secondly, if you’re not already, please follow us on Twitter.  It’s a convenient way to get a reminder of when an article goes up on here.  Although more interestingly so…I occasionally post links on there to other cool video game related stuff around the web on there, so there are some cool reads/ videos/ etc that you may be interested in that get mentioned on the twitter feed.
It’s spam free so don’t worry about your Twitter feed blowing up with crap. :)

Lastly, if you’re interested in writing video game/ gamer related articles, and want to contribute here…  Or if you’re creating other such video game related media and want some extra exposure, hit us up via e-mail [currentlyplaying[at]kusohappens.com].

If you enjoy sharing your opinions and views on video games, don’t mind a bit of internet based typing, and want a place to share your thoughts, then potentially you need to look no further…

Over the coming weeks this site will be getting a few visual jazz ups, a logo for one :p, and other visual tweeks, then from there it will grow as a video game blog, with articles and features a plenty.  However, one thing I as a gamer appreciate from other gaming sites is varied opinion, and naturally I’d like the same to be said for this place.  For instance I’m rarely a fan of RPG’s (well JRPG’s anyway), the only RPG’s I actually enjoy are the Pokemon ones, so it would be rare that this place would ever cover such things.

One thing I’m looking for would be people who can keep an article fun and interesting, try not to go into TOO much detail (unless it really calls for it), so as to not potentially alienate people, and don’t feel as though you have to approach things serious.  Right now I visualise this place as a sort of laid back place for gaming reads, a nice light hearted time killer that appeals to gamers.

There’s no real deadlines or targets to meet in terms of work, so if you can only see yourself writing one thing every other month that’s fine.  Another thing would be that if this place ever became a blog that generated income any other regular writers that make up what this place is would definitely get there cut.  Although that’s not something I really have in mind at the moment.

So, if you’re interested in writing here then drop me an e-mail at currentlyplaying[at]ymail.com, if you want to write me a draft of some of your work or a demo of you’re writing skills/ style then that would be nice, also some sort of indication of the stuff you’d be writing about, whether you want to review classic games, modern games, articles on the way gaming was, is, or it’s changes/ evolution.  There are pertty much hundres of segments in gaming you could write about so be creative.  YouTubing about games is also welcome too.

Hi Everybody!

…and welcome to Currently Playing.

Just another video games based blog on the ol’ internets for you to gander at if you so please.

Mainly just because I was filling my personal emo’y self blog thing with a lot of Video Game based chit chat and really wanted to draw a more distinguished line between writing about my life, and writing about one of my favourite past times and passions… that being video games, and the games industry itself.  Thus “Currently Playing” is born,

Now, any serious gamer will no doubt have a number of personal go-to sites for video game news, features, reviews, and so on…I know I do.  I’m not seriously trying to contend with anything else that’s out, this is mainly a mains to share opinions on the past, present, and the things to come in gaming. A place with a low key down to earth feel, just words from the regular video game player that may or may not fall on the ears of the regular video game playing crowd.
